Growing natural gas supply and its environmental benefits are shifting capital equipment purchasing from coal. Countries with cheaper gas are reducing emissions, and gas market reforms in places like the UK and China are expected to boost private investment in gas infrastructure.
Global natural gas supply grew 1.6% annually from 2011-2016 and is projected to continue growing. The US is expected to account for 40% of this growth, followed by China (40%) and the Middle East (20%).
