ADI partnered with a battery recycling innovator to build a strategic go-to-market roadmap. Our work helped them analyze their technology, define their value proposition, and prepare for successful market entry and fundraising.
The client
We partnered with a battery recycling start-up that was looking to communicate their story for potential investors.
The situation
The client had developed a new technology to refine black mass and intermediate commodity products into cathode active materials (pCAM) for EV batteries. They needed a strategic roadmap to go to market, analyze their technology’s competitiveness, and define a compelling value proposition for various players across the EV value chain, including OEMs, cell producers, miners, refiners, and black mass producers.
ADI’s contributions
Bottom-up cost and emissions modeling
We created a detailed model of the EV battery value chain to assess the impact of their technology and pinpoint key value drivers. This model considered various processing routes to ensure an exhaustive and robust analysis.
Market strategy development
We developed a comprehensive go-to-market strategy for both the upstream (recycling, black mass producers, refiners) and downstream (OEMs, cell producers) portions of the market. This included a detailed competitiveness analysis and market outlook.
Investor pitch material
We crafted investor pitch materials with a detailed strategy, scaling plan, and a compelling value proposition. These materials were specifically tailored for both upstream and downstream investors.
Key outcomes
- Our work enabled the client to present a clear, compelling, and data-driven equity story. This equipped them to effectively communicate their strategic vision and unique value proposition to potential investors and partners, positioning them for successful fundraising and market entry.
