Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) developments in July 2024 were driven by stronger airline commitments, new partnerships, and expanding infrastructure. Wizz Air was recognized as the “Most Sustainable Low-Cost Airline” for its low-carbon operations and SAF adoption goals, while Mönchengladbach Airport became Germany’s first to offer continuous SAF supply.
Momentum across industry and policy continued to build through collaborative initiatives and government engagement. DHL Express Malaysia partnered with CIMB Group to enhance sustainable logistics, and Capenha worked with Condor Airlines on future SAF procurement. Despite Shell pausing its renewable fuel project in Rotterdam, efforts by Neste with Hotelplan Group and support from the U.S. Department of Energy reflected ongoing alignment toward advancing SAF technologies.
