Here are the latest highlights from ADI’s SAF Tracker:
- Delta Air Lines signed a five-year agreement with Shell Aviation to secure at least 15 million gallons of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in 2026, with volumes expected to increase through 2030 across multiple U.S. hubs.
- Axens launched France’s first industrial-scale SAF production plant, which is expected to produce ~16.5 million gallons per year (mgpy) of SAF using its Jetanol™ ethanol-to-jet technology starting in 2030.
- H4 Marseille Fos advanced its planned ~24.8 mgpy eSAF project by securing long-term low-carbon electricity supply from EDF Energy, moving the project closer to its targeted 2028 final investment decision (FID).
- Acelen Renewables secured 300,000 metric tons per year (mtpa) of certified soybean oil from Bunge under a five-year agreement to support future SAF and renewable diesel (RD) production.
- Honeywell completed its £1.33 billion (~$1.79 billion) acquisition of Johnson Matthey’s Catalyst Technologies business, expanding its catalyst and process technology portfolio for refining, petrochemicals, and renewable fuels production.
- HAMR Energy secured a $32 million grant from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) to advance its planned methanol-to-jet (MTJ) SAF facility in Port Adelaide.
- Japan announced a phased SAF mandate at seven major airports beginning in fiscal year (FY) 2030, alongside a passenger levy to support its target of replacing 10% of conventional jet fuel with SAF by 2030.
