Global Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) developments in March 2024 were driven by new funding, certifications, and partnerships across airlines and technology providers. The Canadian Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources announced federal funding for clean fuel projects, while Jet2.com and Kintetsu World Express advanced early SAF adoption in the U.K. and Japan.
Collaboration and project expansion gained traction with initiatives from Sasol and Topsoe, which launched a joint venture to scale SAF production technologies. Jet Zero Australia, Avfuel, and Neste strengthened long-term partnerships, while Willis Sustainable Fuels and Aemetis received key project approvals in the U.K. and U.S. Certification progress by FS underscored growing industry alignment toward sustainable fuel standards.
