Here are the latest highlights from ADI’s SAF Tracker:
- Dubai’s ENOC Group signed an MoU with Abu Dhabi-based Allied Biofuels Holding to evaluate the long-term commercial distribution and offtake of sustainable fuels.
- SAF producer NorSAF selected KBR’s proprietary PureSAF technology for its upcoming ~33 million gallons per year SAF production hub in Latvia.
- A Brazilian consortium comprising Petrobras, Braskem, and Ultra advanced toward an FID on a $1 billion advanced biofuels plant at Brazil’s Refinaria Riograndense site.
- Technology provider Axens and SAF producer XCF Global signed an agreement to deploy Axens’ proprietary Vegan technology across XCF Global’s production footprint.
- Brazilian refiner Acelen secured $1.5 billion in funding, led by HSBC and the World Bank’s International Finance Corporation, for its $3 billion biofuels refinery in the northeastern state of Bahia, Brazil.
- Project SkyKraft, a joint venture between SkyNRG and utility Skellefteå Kraft, was awarded a €21 million (~$22.6 million) grant from the Swedish Energy Agency’s Industriklivet initiative.
- The European Commission approved a €1.3 billion (~$1.5 billion) state-aid package proposed by the German government to subsidize up to 1,000 MW of installed electrolyzer capacity for green hydrogen production for eSAF.
- The National Energy Policy Council (CNPE) in Brazil passed an amendment mandating a minimum of 1% advanced waste or residual feedstocks (such as used cooking oil or animal fats) inside all domestic biodiesel, RD, and SAF plants.
