Global progress in Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) accelerated in July 2025 through refinery expansions, new biorefinery projects, and strengthened regional collaborations. Governments and companies advanced initiatives to increase SAF availability, with Colombia Aerocivil, Saipem, and Zhuoyue New Energy announcing new partnerships and facility developments.
Technology deployment and commercial production gained further momentum. Sulzer Chemtech and Natural State Renewables advanced projects across the U.S. and Malaysia, while Licella progressed its Project Swift biorefinery in Australia. SAF adoption expanded at airports in Poland, Japan, and New York, and investments from Boeing signaled broader infrastructure readiness and growing global integration.
