- Gamalux Oils, a Malaysian oil company, urged the government to implement SAF purchase mandates for domestic airlines to accelerate the scale-up of SAF production.
- LanzaJet will adopt Microsoft Azure as its preferred cloud platform to support data management including SAF feedstock traceability and emissions accounting.
- LanzaJet and ATOBA Energy announced a strategic partnership to accelerate SAF deployment by introducing new pricing and offtake models that expand market access and align the interests of SAF producers and buyers.
- TotalEnergies announced efforts to scale up its SAF production, targeting an annual capacity of ~165 million gallons by 2028 to align with the EU’s SAF mandates.
- USA BioEnergy signed a letter of intent with Louisiana-Pacific (LP), an American building materials manufacturer, for a long-term wood fiber supply agreement to produce SAF at its planned biorefinery in Bon Weir, Texas.
- GreenSinnergy, an energy developer, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Axens to advance the development of SAF projects in Argentina and other Latin American regions.
- Turkish Airlines signed a letter of intent with Tüpras, a leading Turkish oil refining company, to explore the production and supply of SAF at its Izmir refinery in Aliağa, Türkiye.
- XCF Global, a U.S. SAF producer, completed its merger with Focus Impact BH3 Acquisitions, with its Class A shares set to begin trading on the Nasdaq under the ticker “SAFX.”
- Honeywell, Johnson Matthey, GIDARA Energy, and Samsung Engineering & Construction formed a strategic alliance to deliver a comprehensive, end-to-end solution for SAF production from biomass and municipal solid waste.
- Syzygy Plasmonics announced the commencement of front-end engineering and design (FEED) for NovaSAF 1, an electrified biogas-to-SAF facility located in Durazno, Uruguay.
- Praj Industries, the International Air Transport Association (IATA), and the Indian Sugar & Bi-energy Manufacturers’ Association (ISMA) collaborated to develop a certification framework for SAF produced in India.
- Chevron Lummus Global announced a partnership with Neste to develop advanced technology for converting lignocellulosic biomass into renewable fuels, including SAF, at a research and development facility in the U.S.
- The European Union announced plans to subsidize the purchase of SAF by airlines to encourage greater offtake of cleaner fuels.
