Global momentum for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) strengthened in May 2025, driven by new policy incentives, airline offtake agreements, and technology advancements. The State of Iowa introduced new SAF tax credits, while companies such as McLaren Racing, Cathay Pacific, and Cargolux Airlines expanded SAF procurement to reduce aviation-related emissions.
The sector saw broad progress across production, certification, and innovation. Infinium, Pertamina, and Emerging Fuels Technology advanced new SAF projects in the U.S., Indonesia, and Philippines, while Adecoagro achieved ISCC CORSIA Plus certification for ethanol-based feedstocks. Neste supplied its first SAF batch to FedEx, and Topsoe launched new catalysts for renewable fuels, signaling continued global commitment and growing maturity in the SAF market.
