- McLaren Racing invested in procuring ~1 million gallons of SAF in 2024 to offset the carbon emissions generated by its business travel across all racing events.
- Cathay Pacific signed an offtake agreement with China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) to purchase SAF for select flights departing from Hong Kong International Airport.
- Cargolux Airlines and AIT Worldwide Logistics, in partnership with Microsoft, announced their largest SAF offtake agreement to support the transport of Microsoft Cloud Logistics’ server racks.
- Overland Aviation, a North Dakota-based fixed-base operator (FBO), received its first delivery of ~8,000 gallons of SAF from Avfuel Corporation.
- Kuehne+Nagel, a Swedish transport and logistics company, launched a sustainability program to advance air freight operations by using SAF.
- World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), a U.K.-based forum, announced a partnership with ICF International, a U.S.-based consulting firm, to introduce a framework focused on accelerating aviation decarbonization through SAF adoption.
- Infinium, a U.S.-based e-fuels producer, announced the construction of its second production facility, known as Project Roadrunner, in Reeves County, Texas, which will include the production of e-SAF.
- UPM, a Finnish forestry company, plans to abandon the development of a second biomass-to-fuels refinery at the Port of Rotterdam, Netherlands, and instead focus on securing regulatory approval for a new SAF pathway using crude tall oil (CTO) as feedstock.
- Pertamina, an Indonesian oil company, announced plans to expand existing SAF production from its largest oil processing facility at the Cilacap refinery to two additional sites, which are the Dumai refinery in Riau and the Balongan refinery in West Java.
- Adecoagro, a European agro-industrial company, obtained ISCC CORSIA Plus certification for its ethanol produced in Angélica, Brazil, qualifying it as an eligible feedstock for SAF production.
- Neste announced the supply ~2.6 million gallons of SAF to FedEx at Los Angeles Airport, marking FedEx’s first major SAF deployment in the U.S.
- Emerging Fuels Technology (EFT), a U.S.-based fuel supplier, signed an MoU with the project developer SAFasia (SAFA) to develop and support multiple SAF facilities in the Philippines.
- Avina Clean Hydrogen announced a partnership with Pittsburgh International Airport to develop its first on-site SAF production facility in the U.S.
- Topsoe announced the launch of its new proprietary catalysts for renewable diesel (RD) and SAF production, with enhanced hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) selectivity and extended cycle length, to improve efficiency and profitability.
- APG Asset Management, a Dutch pension services provider, announced an investment of ~$258 million in SkyNRG, a Netherlands-based SAF company, to accelerate the expansion of its SAF infrastructure and existing production facilities.
- Norway announced plans to implement the European Union’s ReFuelEU Aviation regulations by 2027, according to Transport Minister Jon-Ivar Nygård.
