Global adoption of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) expanded in March 2025, supported by new airline agreements, book-and-claim systems, and improved emissions tracking. Airbus, Virgin Australia, and Farnborough Airport introduced new SAF procurement and certification frameworks, while Microsoft partnered with Future Energy Global to acquire SAF certificates and offset business travel emissions.
The sector advanced across production, technology, and regional expansion. Cosmo Oil, Elyse Energy, and Delta Airlines strengthened offtake partnerships, while Willis Sustainable Fuels and OMV Petrom adopted new proprietary technologies for SAF development. Breakthroughs from Aether Fuels and new CO₂ accounting initiatives by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) further underscored the industry’s growing focus on transparency, innovation, and global scalability.
