The Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) sector advanced in December 2024 through a wave of new airline collaborations, large-scale investments, and policy initiatives aimed at accelerating global adoption. Key players such as Formula 1, EasyJet, and Phillips 66 expanded SAF integration across the U.K., Europe, and the U.S., highlighting growing commercial uptake and industry engagement.
The sector also has significant progress in project development and financing. GreenSinergy announced a large-scale SAF project, while the International Finance Corporation backed the establishment of Pakistan’s first SAF facility. New innovations from CleanJoule and LiquidSun, alongside expanded certification programs under ICAO’s CORSIA, reflected growing alignment between technology, finance, and regulation in scaling global SAF production.
