The Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) sector advanced in November 2024 through expanded partnerships, infrastructure projects, and new technology collaborations. Organizations such as the California Air Resources Board, Neste, and Air Canada advanced regional SAF availability, while Wizz Air and Airbus initiated a trial program to align with upcoming RefuelEU regulations.
The sector also expanded its global project footprint, with initiatives from DG Fuels, Mercantile & Maritime Group, and KazMunayGaz announcing large-scale SAF projects. Technology developers, including Topsoe, Alfa Laval, and BioVeritas, advanced new conversion and feedstock processes, underscoring continued diversification and technical advancement across the SAF value chain.
