- The U.S. International Air Transport Association (IATA) has announced the creation of a SAF matchmaking platform, set to launch in the first quarter of 2025.
- The GREATER MSP Partnership has announced key developments for the Minnesota SAF Hub, aimed at creating a large-scale supply chain for SAF to serve Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport.
- Sahara Group, a UAE-based energy and infrastructure conglomerate, has invested its global business travel miles into the Air France-KLM SAF program.
- QNB Group, a Qatar-based financial institute, has announced a partnership with DHL to use SAF into its shipping solutions through the GoGreen Plus.
- China Eastern Airlines’ narrow-body jet C919 conducted its first commercial flight using SAF departing from Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX) to Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (SHA).
- SkyNRG and Sweden-based renewable energy producer, Skellefteå Kraft, have announced a partnership under the name Project SkyKraft to investigate eSAF production.
- Flying Forest, a UK-based biofuels company, has announced the acquisition of a site in Iisalmi, Finland, for its first SAF production facility and biofuels research center.
- GS Caltex, a South Korea-based energy and chemical company, has exported ~1,320 gallons of SAF to Japan for use at Narita Airport, where it will be sold to ANA and JAL airlines.
- S-Oil, a South Korea-based refinery, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with T’way Air to supply SAF for its commercial flights to Japan starting this month, with plans to expand supply in the future.
- PT Pertamina and Airbus have announced an MoU to explore opportunities for SAF production in Indonesia.
- TotalEnergies and Air France-KLM have signed an agreement to supply up to ~495 million gallons of SAF over a 10-year period, until 2035.
- Twelve has announced $645 million in funding, including $400 million in project equity led by TPG Rise Climate, $200 million in Series C financing, and an additional $45 million in credit facilities from renewable energy investors.
- AIR COMPANY has announced that it has raised $69 million in Series B funding, with Avfuel leading the round.
- CleanJoule has announced that its CycloSAF has entered ASTM International’s D4054 process for qualification to be blended with conventional Jet A/A-1.
