Global progress in Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) accelerated in September 2024, driven by international cooperation, airline commitments, and infrastructure expansion. IATA launched a SAF platform to connect developers and investors, while China Eastern Airlines completed its first commercial SAF-powered flight. Major partnerships such as TotalEnergies–Air France-KLM and PT Pertamina–Airbus highlighted continued momentum in long-term supply and production development.
The sector also advanced through corporate and financial engagement, with Twelve, AIR COMPANY, and CleanJoule securing new funding and certification milestones. Projects led by SkyNRG, S-Oil, and Flying Forest across Europe, Asia, and the U.S. reflected growing momentum toward commercial-scale SAF production and integration.
