Global progress in Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) accelerated in August 2024, supported by advancements in technology, waste-to-fuel pathways, and strengthened policy initiatives. Capenha advanced its renewable fuel technology in Germany, while Mana and Equinor partnered in Norway to expand waste-based SAF production.
Industry momentum grew through new collaborations and funding commitments. Acer and Dimerco Express integrated SAF into air freight operations, and the UK Ministry of Defense began using SAF for Royal Air Force flights. Partnerships such as Zhejiang Jiaao Enprotech with BP, along with major funding from the Federal Aviation Administration and Green Air Fuel Technology, underscored rising global investment and support toward accelerating SAF commercialization and emission reduction.
