In June 2024, Japan began SAF supply, SkyRNG launched a SAF credit system with Microsoft, Neste supplied Emirates in Singapore, OMV planned renewable fuel/SAF production in Romania, 100% SAF flight tests were positive, and China chose CLG’s SAF technology.

  • Marubeni, a Japan-based trading company, has started supplying SAF in Japan. The SAF is produced by HD Hyundai Oilbank using a co-processing pathway.
  • SkyRNG launched Project Runway, a Book and Claim initiative for SAF. Microsoft has joined as the founding corporate member and initial claims buyer.
  • Neste announced it supplied SAF to Emirates for flights departing from Changi Airport, in Singapore.
  • OMV announced its plans to convert its Petrobrazi refinery in Brazi, Romina, to produce renewable diesel and SAF.
  • The world’s first in-flight study using 100% SAF in both engines of a commercial aircraft, conducted by Airbus, Rolls-Royce, German Aerospace Center (DLR), and Neste, showed promising results.
  • Chevron Lummus Global (CLG) has announced that its proprietary HEFA technology has been selected for a SAF project in China.
