Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) deployment advanced in June 2024, led by new supply initiatives, technology collaborations, and successful flight demonstrations across Asia and Europe. Marubeni began supplying SAF in Japan, while Neste supported Emirates flights from Singapore and OMV advanced renewable fuel production plans in Romania.
Innovation and corporate engagement continued to expand globally. SkyNRG launched a SAF credit system with Microsoft, marking progress in book-and-claim mechanisms, while Chevron Lummus Global secured a project in China using its HEFA technology. A milestone 100% SAF flight test conducted by Airbus, Rolls-Royce, and partners demonstrated strong technical readiness for wider commercial adoption.
