Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) activity in February 2025 gained momentum in the U.S. through new funding, certifications, and collaborative projects. United Airlines expanded its Sustainable Flight Fund with new global partners, while Repsol obtained certification from the Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials to support traceable SAF sales.
Industry partnerships and project launches continued to advance innovation and capacity. Neste and Amelia agreed on an offtake deal, Jet Zero Australia partnered with LanzaJet to progress Project Ulysses, and Strategic Biofuels collaborated with Sumitomo Corporation of Americas on the Louisiana Green Fuels project. Twelve began constructing its pilot-scale SAF facility in Washington, and Velocys secured funds in new capital to accelerate growth and commercialization.
