Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) adoption in January 2024 accelerated through strengthened partnerships across e-commerce, logistics, and technology sectors. Mytheresa signed a long-term SAF agreement with DHL Express, while Korean Air and Yusen Logistics expanded collaboration to promote SAF use in air cargo operations.
Corporate and innovation initiatives continued to advance. Microsoft secured SAF credits through a book-and-claim deal with OMV, and Cepsa partnered with Air Europa for regular SAF-powered flights. Dimerco Express Group and the Business Environment Council joined Cathay Pacific’s SAF program, while RenFuel received funding from the Swedish Energy Agency to scale its catalytic technology for converting paper byproducts into SAF.
