Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) transition in November 2023 accelerated through new airline commitments, partnerships, and technology readiness milestones. Singapore Airlines Group outlined plans to replace 5% of its conventional fuel use with SAF by 2030, while Rolls-Royce completed full compatibility testing of 100% SAF across its civil engine portfolio.
Collaborations and production advancements expanded globally. Virgin Atlantic secured approval for 100% SAF operations, Southwest Airlines signed a long-term offtake deal with USA BioEnergy, and Air France–KLM invested in DG Fuels to advance the SAF facility. Partnerships involving Boeing, Zero Petroleum, and CVR Renewables further strengthened progress toward commercial-scale e-SAF development.
