ADI Analytics presented “Shale in 2030?” at CISTAR (Center for Innovative and Strategic Transformation of Alkane Resources) in May 2019. This presentation assessed shale oil and gas’s current state. It also provided an outlook through 2030. The analysis evaluated drilling and completion costs, economics, threats, opportunities, and technological innovation. The presentation highlighted the U.S.’s repositioning as a major energy producer. It now leads in oil, gas, and NGL production.
Exploration and production (E&P) operators have actively reduced costs across exploration, drilling, completions, and production. Gas monetization primarily occurs through LNG exports. Small-scale Gas-to-Liquids (GTL) shows promise. However, it requires further cost-effective innovation to deliver viable small-scale solutions.
