In the June 2019 edition of the ADI chemicals newsletter, we highlighted key trends in the global chemical industry. While the U.S. and India showed GDP growth, other regions faced challenges.
In the Americas, ExxonMobil and Indorama expanded capacities, while INEOS entered the U.S. pigments market. Europe saw new plants from MOL and Irkutsk Oil, and research on recycled plastics progressed. Energy sector activity in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East saw GAIL and BASF-SINOPEC leading developments in Asia-Pacific, while INEOS invested in Saudi Arabia. Wood also secured significant contracts in Oman and Saudi Arabia.
