ADI developed a vendor‑independent Building Efficiency Assessment Methodology (BEAM) to quantify energy savings, emissions reductions, and retrofit economics across existing building portfolios. The work combined inductive benchmarking from comparable buildings, scenario‑based modeling, and conversion‑rate analysis to move retrofit decisions upstream without costly on‑site audits. Emphasis was placed on translating engineering outputs into CFO‑relevant metrics such as payback, cash flow, and project risk.
The client
Diversified industrial’s building energy efficiency business
The situation
High retrofit costs and lack of credible pre‑assessment tools limited private‑sector investment in building efficiency.
ADI’s contributions
Vendor‑independent modeling framework
Developed a modular toolkit to benchmark energy use, emissions, and retrofit costs without on‑site surveys.
Scenario‑based economic analysis
Modeled payback, cash flow, and conversion rates under multiple investment and adoption scenarios.
Barrier reduction focus
Addressed structural, behavioral, and capital barriers that limit private‑sector retrofit uptake.
Commercialization readiness
Designed phased validation, pilot testing, and market rollout to support large‑scale adoption.
Key outcomes
- Enabled scalable, objective screening of retrofit opportunities, lowering barriers to investment and improving project conversion rates.

Global diesel markets are leaning more on North America
While diesel production in the Americas increased through the first half of 2026, output in Europe and Asia declined, increasing reliance on North American exports to help balance global supply. This comes at a time when middle distillate markets remain critical to freight, industrial, and commercial activity, making reliable diesel supply increasingly important for many […]
