Global Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) progress in October 2024 was driven by airline partnerships, government initiatives, and technology innovation. Qatar Airways, Virgin Australia, and IAG Cargo strengthened supply commitments, while Southwest Airlines and Signature Aviation expanded offtake agreements in the U.S. to enhance SAF accessibility across airports.
The month also saw stronger policy and technology support. The Malaysian government introduced budget measures to promote palm oil–derived SAF, while the U.S. Treasury issued updated guidance on SAF tax credits. Companies including Technip Energies, Enerkem, and Unifuel, advanced new conversion and emissions-reduction technologies, highlighting continued progress in production efficiency and sustainability.
