At the 2024 ADI Forum, David Austgen, CEO, BioVeritas, and Steve Brown, President, Chemstations joined Uday Turaga, CEO, ADI Analytics. They held a discussion on key applications and market trends for specialty chemicals. BioVeritas produces bio-based carboxylic acids from food waste for “clean label” food markets. Chemstations, now part of DataCor, provides process simulation software to optimize chemical processes. Both companies were innovating in the specialty chemicals sector.
Chemstations supported companies like BioVeritas in process-scaling through simulation, from lab to commercial, optimizing experiments. BioVeritas was securing off-take agreements for its plant. It produces natural mold inhibitors from bio-based carboxylic acids. They are targeting the “clean label” food market with a significant price premium. The panel also discussed AI in simulation, emphasizing physics-based models for safety. BioVeritas has long-term plans for sustainable aviation fuel.
