ADI Analytics moderates panel at Asia Society Texas

September 7, 2023 – Uday Turaga, Founder and CEO, ADI Analytics, moderated a compelling panel discussion presented by the Asia Society Texas in collaboration with ExxonMobil. With over 130 in attendance for the evening reception and discussion, the panel was part of the Energy Transition Series: Low Carbon Solutions. The speakers included Matt Crocker, SVP, Product, Strategy and New Assets, ExxonMobil’s Low Carbon Business Solutions, Carl Fortin, Global Marketing lead for CCUS, ExxonMobil Takajiro “Tak” Ishikawa, President and CEO, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, Inc, and Charles McConnell, Energy Center Officer, Center for Carbon Management in Energy, University of Houston.

The presentation and panel discussion were lively and informative, with excellent information about what ExxonMobil and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries are doing to meet the world’s growing demand for energy while also reducing emissions. The discussion also included the current state of how things are looking for meeting emissions and carbon reduction goals. The discussion around the major energy transition drivers touched on the IRA, energy efficiency initiatives and gains, and new technology, along with how existing technology and systems are being adapted.

When talking about technology and innovation, there was talk about how it has been integrated into operations and what the potential challenges and opportunities were, as well as where gaps were seen. Additionally, the discussion landed on what the panelists expected collective achievements to be in the short and longer terms, taking the current pace of effort and investment in energy transition.

The audience was very engaged during the question and answer period after the presentation. Networking continued afterward, with more discussions and many people remaining later to engage in further sharing of ideas.
