A key challenge was in calibrating simulations with real-world pilot plant data. The emerging trend of digital twinning was proving highly beneficial. It was especially useful for scaling processes from pilot to commercial plants, ensuring a smoother transition and optimizing operations.
Another significant area of focus was data acquisition and utilization. While vast amounts of data were now available, effectively transforming this raw data into quick, actionable decisions remained a challenge. There’s a notable gap in software that could distill complex data into critical insights for operators. This aimed to simplify decision-making and enhance efficiency throughout the entire development and scaling process.
