Midstream success begins with consolidation

At the 2023 ADI Forum, Diaco Aviki, EVP & COO, Crestwood Midstream Partners, explored how midstream companies were setting themselves apart in an evolving energy landscape. Crestwood’s first priority was to combine with other similar businesses. This merger created a larger operation. Being integrated meant controlling more steps in the process of getting oil and gas from the ground to the end user. This integration could lead to great profits. Larger, integrated companies often have an economic advantage. They make money multiple times as the oil moves through their various services and infrastructures. Owning different parts of the oil and gas infrastructure, like gathering pipelines, processing plants, storage, and long-haul pipelines was not beneficial without significant scale.
