At the ADI Forum, Carlos Villa, R&D Fellow at Dow Chemical, and Matthew Seabaugh, VP at Nexceris LLC, discussed integrating Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) with chemical processes. They highlighted SMRs’ potential for efficient, high-temperature heat to power endothermic reactions in steam crackers, while electricity from SMRs could power other processes. This offers a path to decarbonize chemical production.
