Gopal said that Ascend has seen significant growth by focusing on differentiation and specialization, leading to higher-margin products.
Their innovation strategy involved developing materials tailored to specific applications, leveraging their diverse portfolio of polyamide polymers and co-polymers They were also innovating in the food packaging market with specialized amorphous nylons that improved oxygen barrier capabilities and enable faster processing, thereby extending product shelf life for items like meat. These advancements represented material substitutions that ultimately reduced overall system costs for customers.
