At the 2022 ADI Forum, Michael Mott, SVP of Strategy at NextDecade, discussed the challenges and solutions for transporting and utilizing natural gas from Texas’ key production regions, during a Natural Gas and LNG panel moderated by Uday Turaga, CEO of ADI Analytics. Mott highlighted the successful sale of a 42-inch pipeline to Enbridge, which had been designed to move gas from the Eagleford and Permian Basins. Despite this progress, he emphasized the ongoing need for large-scale processing facilities and the pressure from producers to meet rising demand.
Mott also addressed infrastructure constraints limiting interstate pipeline transport to Louisiana, despite the abundant supply of associated gas. He stressed that resolving these challenges would require further investment and innovative solutions, enabling efficient LNG exports and long-term industry growth. The discussion underscored the importance of infrastructure expansion and strategic development in sustaining the future of U.S. natural gas markets.
