McCormack outlined BP’s strategy as a “greening company”, emphasizing its commitment to reducing oil and gas production by 40% by 2030 as part of its net-zero ambition. The discussion also addressed BP’s broader sustainability goals beyond emissions, focusing on operational and financial shifts to accelerate green energy solutions.

Both McCormack and DePriest highlighted the importance of preparedness and innovation, stressing that industry-wide collaboration and strategic investments were key to navigating a sustainable energy future. They underscored the need for scalable solutions, ensuring that companies could adapt to evolving regulations and market expectations while driving progress in renewable and low-carbon technologies.
