At the 2022 ADI Forum, Muhammad Islam, SVP, Business Development and Technology at IHI E&C, explored the future of hydrogen infrastructure financing during the Hydrogen and Fuels panel, moderated by Ari Greenberg, Head of Sales, Energy and Industrials at AlphaSense. Hydrogen infrastructure was advancing rapidly, with increasing focus on regional hydrogen hubs. The U.S. Gulf Coast was emerging as a leading location, supported by existing hydrogen production facilities, expanding blue and green hydrogen projects, and an extensive pipeline network—all key factors in scaling a clean hydrogen economy. On the financial side, the U.S. Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act earmarked $8 billion to develop clean hydrogen hubs, providing critical funding to accelerate infrastructure deployment and drive the transition to low-carbon energy.
