During the 2020 ADI Forum, Uday Turaga, Chief Executive Officer, ADI Analytics, offered his perspective on the future trajectory of U.S. oil and gas production. While both natural gas and crude oil output were still on an upward trend, the rate of growth was decelerating. Natural gas production, at just over 90 billion cubic feet per day in 2019, was projected to reach 100–105 billion cubic feet per day by 2025, while crude oil, exceeding 12 million barrels per day in 2019, was expected to peak at 14–16 million barrels per day before declining. This slowing growth, from 14% to 10% for gas and from 18% to 12% for oil, signified a pivotal moment for supply stability, market trends, and future investments in the U.S. oil and gas sector.
