The future of north american LNG & pipeline exports

At the 2017 ADI Forum, Tyler Wilson of ADI Analytics said the global LNG market was oversupplied, creating price pressure and uncertainty, yet U.S. LNG exports remained competitive due to low costs and a tolling model that reduced commodity price risk through stable liquefaction fees supported by redundant pipelines and diverse gas supply. He noted that only U.S. projects with firm off-take agreements and advanced permits were likely to proceed. Meanwhile, pipeline exports mainly to Mexico were expanding to meet rising power demand, with total U.S. gas exports projected to reach about 20 percent of production by 2025, signaling a major shift in the U.S. energy role.
