February 5, 2020- During the “Small-Scale Liquefied Natural Gas Deployment in Central and Eastern Europe” Workshop that was held in Tirana, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), assistant secretary, Steven Winberg mentioned ADI Analytics’ effort in developing a technical and policy study on the prospective benefits of small-scale LNG in the region of Albania. Remarks by Assistant Secretary Steven Winberg | U.S. Embassy in Albania (usembassy.gov) ADI’s study will be used to not only understand regional infrastructure needs but also for future commercial opportunities for LNG distribution.
ADI will use prior experience and various methodological tools to conduct and deliver an extensive study. Along with ADI’s experience in having completed over 25+ projects in small-scale LNG in various countries such as North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America, ADI will use its expertise in small-scale LNG coupled with interviews, research, and analytical modeling. Ultimately, this study will reveal costs analysis, demand, and overall energy security with small-scale LNG in Central and Eastern Europe. This will help regional leaders and experts make informed decisions regarding the use of LNG in the region.
The study outlines how a third of the countries can benefit from small-scale LNG due to specific factors, the applications where small-scale LNG has the most potential and demand, infrastructure at the small-scale, and policy support which could help drive small-scale LNG.
