The U.S. Department of Energy commissioned the U.S. Energy Association (USEA) to assess market potential for small-scale and containerized LNG in Central & Eastern Europe. USEA, in turn, partnered with the Gas Technology Institute (GTI) and ADI Analytics. The project had four main objectives:
- Developing a concrete and thorough understanding of the market potential for small-scale LNG in Central & Eastern Europe
- Identifying key infrastructure needs to enable the rapid deployment of small-scale LNG in the region
- Identifying near- and medium-term opportunities to jump-start and accelerate deployment of small-scale LNG
- Based on these opportunities, provide actionable recommendations to foreign and local stakeholders in the public and private sectors
The fifteen countries assessed during the course of the project are Albania, Austria, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia.
The report details key findings, methodology, results, and country-wise and application-wise discussion on opportunities for small-scale and containerized LNG in Central & Eastern Europe.
