ADI Analytics’ Panuswee Dwivedi and Uday Turaga, both gave presentations at this year’s INFORMED’s Oilfield Minerals and Markets Forum 2023 on May 9, 2023. Dwivedi, a Project Manager at ADI, gave the assembled crowd an overview of the Oil & gas supply demand outlook for the year. She provided a thorough and interesting outlook for the coming year, as the Oilfield Minerals and Markets Forum counts on ADI to present the outlook for the coming year at their annual conference. Included in the points covered were affects of China’s re-opening, recession risks, and Russian oil supply cuts keeping oil prices in the low $80s through 2024, that uncertain global gas demand growth will keep Henry Hub prices under $4 per million Btu through 2026, and that OPEC will supply half of the incremental global oil demand through 2025, followed by the US.
Meanwhile, shortly after Dwivedi concluded her remarks, Turaga, CEO and Founder of ADI Analytics, took the stage to give a thorough presentation entitled The Energy Transition: a Reality Check, during which he shared key insights from research done by ADI. Included in the information presented was that oil & gas will play a material role even in a net-zero transition future, carbon capture and storage will be key to energy transition, and that incumbents are underestimating the risks of energy transition. Additionally, there is a lot more to energy transition than the usual suspects, and the role of policy in accelerating energy transition should not be underestimated.
