September 15, 2016- The 7th International DME Conference was held from September 14-16, 2016, in Houston, TX at Hilton Houston Post Oak hotel. The conference brought together methanol industry members, fleet owners, OEMs, and members of the international DME association to learn more about opportunities within DME. The conference also delivered insights for companies working in commercialization and development of DME.
ADI Analytics presented the keynote talk on, 'The Natural Gas Supply Landscape and Opportunities for DME,' at the conference. Four key messages were provided within the presentation. First, understanding how the shale resource has significantly expanded natural gas supply and a significant fraction of production growth is increasingly independent of gas prices. This growth has been due to unconventional resources. Second, shale gas resource development costs have fallen because of operational drilling and completion improvements reducing breakeven costs in gas plays. Third, natural gas demand in the U.S., however, has limited growth opportunities for further expansion driving interest and investment in gas monetization. Lastly, small-scale gas monetization is gaining interest due to various factors and that creates opportunities for DME. Even so, LNG offers the highest returns, followed by MTG and GTL. Investor interest for small-scale LNG is continuing to grow in Asia, Europe, and even North America.
ADI continuously monitors and researches various natural gas monetization markets. You can learn more and find our holistic view of these markets through our research services. To download the full presentation, fill in the information below.
