December 2016- The SIGTTO Energy Forum was held over a span of three days in Houston, TX. The forum discussed important information about liquefied gas carriers, import and export facilities, use of liquefied gas as a marine fuel, and liquefied gas bunkering operations. The Society of International Gas Tanker and Terminal Operators (SIGTTO) is focused on promoting shipping and terminal operations for liquefied gases that are not only safe, but environmentally friendly.
ADI Analytics presented on, 'Trends and Opportunities in the Global LNG Market.' ADI enlightened the forum with information on global LNG markets. Some of the findings discussed how although global LNG market doubled over the past decade, growth has since slowed and it will likely remain oversupplied until 2020. We also see many large-scale LNG export projects which have come forth, although after benchmarking we anticipate very few of them moving completely forward due to specific reasons. However, several opportunities are possible for small-and mid-scale LNG facilities such as marine fuel and export to small markets. Moreover, floating, storage, and regasification units (FSRUs) are making it possible for many countries to have the option to import LNG and they have tripled over the years.
