October 23, 2019- The 2019 Flare Gas Monetization and Syngas Conversion Forum held in Houston, TX at Hotel Grandua brought together a wide range of speakers and attendees. Organized by Energy Frontiers International, the forum included programs on strategic and techno-economic perspectives, small-scale modular conversion, process and technology development, and methanol synthesis and fuel applications.
ADI Analytics' CEO, Uday Turaga, spoke on 'The Natural Gas Supply Landscape and Emerging Pathways to Monetization.' Six key insights were provided by the end of the presentation. One, gas supply growth continues to be a great story. Two, gas demand continues to be challenging. Three, gas conversion to fuels is even more challenging. Four, flaring and fugitive emissions have some interest but are still short of a tipping point. Five, gas exports will be the primary monetization strategy. Six, all good things come to an end, and we see growing concerns for gas exports.
