December 9, 2019- The ARPA-E Methane Pyrolysis Cohort Kickoff was held on December 9-10 in Houston, TX. Some of the goals for the kickoff included conversations on the potential space for methane pyrolysis and its products, moving towards commercialization, and benchmarking methane pyrolysis against emerging technologies.
CEO of ADI Analytics, Uday Turaga presented on, 'Hydrogen Markets' including anomalies of the hydrogen economy and the present and future status for hydrogen. The most important insight detailed how the momentum around hydrogen has increased globally, leading to an increase in hydrogen demand. Many companies including Equinor, Shell, Total and ADNOC are taking their own initiatives regarding the hydrogen value chain. Moreover, automobile companies and industrial gas companies are becoming involved through the development of hydrogen vehicles and building new refueling stations, liquefaction plants, and storage facilities. Collectively, the trends will drive demand for new supply technologies including methane polymers which will have to compete with other options.
