Ben Franklin’s Shale Gas Innovation & Commercialization Center has announced the selection of ADI Analytics to study natural gas monetization via methanol, in particular the technical and economic viability of small to medium-sized plants in northeastern United States. In a press release issued by Ben Franklin’s SGICC, ADI Analytics’ Uday Turaga was quoted as below:
“Over the past few years, ADI Analytics has been advising oil and gas producers, chemical companies, project developers, and investors on shale gas and NGL monetization projects in North America. As a result, we have looked at LNG, gas-to-liquids, and chemicals such as methanol and ammonia and believe that a mix of cheap and plentiful gas, creative project structuring, and technology innovations are critical to their technical and economic feasibility. Our team is looking forward to working with SGICC in assessing the methanol opportunity in the Marcellus.”
