At the 2023 ADI Forum, Blake Littauer, President, Puget LNG, joined moderator Uday Turaga, CEO, ADI Analytics, to discuss the limited growth potential for an existing LNG project on the U.S. West Coast. While the facility had the capacity to add a second production unit, the speaker indicated that this expansion faced significant challenges. The company acknowledged that expanding their LNG bunkering operations on the U.S. West Coast would be challenging. This was a shift from an earlier vision of continuous expansion.

While they had the physical capacity and ability to add a second processing train, doing so would involve significant hurdles, particularly with permitting. The current stance was that once their existing capacity was fully utilized, it would be difficult to add more. This operated on a “first come, first serve” basis. The overall sentiment suggested a cautious approach to further growth due to the complexities involved.
